I believe it is the intention to apply the principle of duty pay to all those officers who are appointed from home.

The Ledical Officers take a long time to reach their maximum and are debarred from private practice; there are no extra fees such as for giving evidence in the Courts, performing post mortem eva.inations etc.

In other departments e.g. the Educational, Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, the members can augment their mens by tutoring and private practice.
